ModificationsContempt & EnforcementChild SupportPost-Decree Matters

David Kim joined Hartwell Family Law in 2021 after clerking for the Honorable Patricia Coan in the Denver District Court's family law division. His clerkship gave him deep insight into how judges evaluate modification requests and contempt motions—knowledge he now uses to benefit his clients.

David understands that life changes, and court orders sometimes need to change too. Whether a client has experienced a significant change in income, needs to relocate for work, or wants to modify a parenting plan as children grow older, David guides them through the modification process efficiently and effectively.

He also handles enforcement matters when the other party isn't following court orders. David takes particular satisfaction in holding non-compliant parties accountable, whether they're failing to pay child support, violating parenting time orders, or not complying with property division requirements.

Before law school, David worked as a financial analyst, giving him strong skills in analyzing financial documents and discovering discrepancies. This background is invaluable in child support modifications and cases where a party may be hiding income.

David lives in the Highlands and is an amateur woodworker and craft coffee enthusiast.
